Belly Faces
Publication featuring a selection from Maria Petschnig’s classic work Belly Faces (2007–2008). The artist incorporates found materials and sculptural constructions to bring out a cast of characters featuring Marty Feldman, Frau Gerda, Wautzi (and others) in this grotesque, erotic, and humorous series of demented self portraits shot in front of a mirror in the artists bedroom. Each book comes packaged in a brown paper sleeve reminescent of a cheap porno rag. Each sleeve was Risograph printed then signed and numbered by the artist. The book features a thread binding, sewn by the artist.
